Best Dog Parks in the Woodlands
It’s well known that we love our four-legged friends around here, and a big part of loving them well is making sure that they are exercised and socialized. What better place to do that than the dog park? The Woodlands has lots of great spots to take your pups for a fun day. We’ve compiled a list of our favorite dog parks in the area so you can both enjoy some fun in the sun!
Cattail Park
This one-acre park has two separate areas for large and small dogs to allow pups the freedom to run free. There is a shaded area as well as a water source that usually has a couple of plastic pools for cooling down.
Tamarac Dog Park
Tamarac Dog Park is located in Grogan’s Mill and has great shade. It’s part of a larger park, so there is a playground, skate park, restrooms, and plenty of parking. There is fresh water and plenty of seating and tree coverage in the dog park for the humans to relax while their dogs run and play.
Bear Branch Dog Park
Also known as the Woodlands Dog Park, this park is over 2 acres and has plenty of shade. There are two sections to separate big dogs and small dogs, and the park offers waste bags, tennis balls, dog pools, and even a fire hydrant sprinkler! This park has wood chips on the ground instead of grass, so pups get less muddy than they would with traditional grass or dirt.
Outside of the Woodlands
There are a few parks outside of the Woodlands that are worth mentioning if you’re willing to drive a bit further to visit!
Deputy Darren Goforth Park – Cypress
This park is highly rated for its grassy, fenced-in park that has access to a freshwater lake for the pups that love the water. Both the large and small dog areas have agility equipment and plenty of shaded seating. The park has a paved walking trail around it, and lots of room to run and play.
Pundt Park – Spring
Pundt Park has two dog parks for large and small dogs that have a paved trail around them. The unique aspect of this park is its access to both the Spring Creek Greenway Trail and Spring Creek, so whether you’d like to take a hike or go for a swim, your options are open!
